Houston Property Tax Prop-1 vs. prop-2
does any one remembers, knows CA prop-13? It took Houston 25 years to deal with the problem. may be we're 25 years behind CA!
Our mayor Bill White is propoganding for Prop-1. why? Obviously he doesn't want citizen cutting the city fat budget. yet (and the mayor's own admition) the rate of local property taxes rose almost twice as fast as Houstonians' incomes. Where is it all leads? Obviously to Prop-2
why? Obviously it has been created by a group of caring citizens, and it will force more cost control at the city hall. subsequently, less need to increase taxes. Prop-2 is very similar to Colorado's Taxpair Bill of rights, or TABOR. A very successful implementaion of more financial control on the endless consumption of our local administration.

Kerry, Edwards, exploiting fairy tale of stem cell research
It has been a while since I've seen a more loathsome disply of demagoguery by proesidential wants to be.
- The inability of the human spinal cord to regenerate is one of the great unknown of biology. the answer is as remote as planet Jupiter.
- Wher cure will be discoved, it will comes from area we've no idea of which at this point.
- To imply that Bush a prevented superman from ever to walk/fly again.....
- "Ban" there is no ban. this is false. Bush is the first president to approve federal funding for stem cell research.
so, Dear Edwards, and Kerry, it looks like there is absolutly nothing you won't do/say just to get elected!

Visit from CA to Houston
So how to you entertain visitors from North CA?
To our surprise, there are plenty of beautiful places to visit. We decided to get to Anahuac McFaddin National Wildlife Refuges. It is only 1 hour drive from SW Houston, and we felt as we are 1000 miles a way.
Along the way back we stopped at San Jacinto River Cafe/Bar for a true Texas BBQ, and to listen to local Country Music band.
We continued the tour with a taste of Grilled Fish at Tampico, and concluded the evening with nice friends for coffee and lots of talk.
